On October 14, Li Keqiang, Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, chaired a symposium on the economic situation of the principal leaders of some provincial governments in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, to hear opinions and suggestions on the current economic situation and the next step of economic work.

       Li Keqiang said that since this year, the international environment has become more complex and severe, the world economic growth has slowed down, and the domestic economy is also facing multiple challenges and difficulties. All localities and departments, under the firm leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, conscientiously implement the deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and strive to do well in the "six stabilization" work. The economic operation is generally stable, the structural adjustment is steadily advancing, and the well-being of the people's livelihood is constantly improving. However, we should also see that the current downward pressure of the economy continues to increase, the real economy is facing serious difficulties, domestic demand is weak, some food prices are rising due to the change of supply and demand, and some local development momentum is insufficient. To do the next step in economic work, we must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era, enhance our sense of urgency and sense of responsibility, concentrate our efforts on our own affairs, grasp the priority of development, ensure steady growth and keep the economic operation in a more prominent position in a reasonable range, and further drive the reform and opening up to the outside world, and expand our domestic market demand. We should give full play to the role of special bonds of local governments, promote private investment, accelerate the construction of major projects to fill shortcomings, restructure and benefit people's livelihood, and expand effective investment. We will support and promote industrial transfer in the central and Western regions. Focusing on the needs of the masses and expanding domestic demand, adapting to the new market situation, highlighting key points, cultivating and expanding new consumption growth points of goods and services, and activating urban and rural online and offline markets.

       Li Keqiang said that we should persist in promoting the construction of market-oriented, legalized and internationalized business environment through reform.
