       China Embassy in Ivory Coast Tang Weibin said soubre hydropower station built a strong impetus for the long-term development of economy and society, the project is one of the landmark achievements of cooperation between the two countries, has laid a solid foundation for the two countries to promote sustained and in-depth cooperation.

       The hydropower station was designed by the Chengdu Institute of China electric power construction company, and the five Bureau of China Hydropower construction. In May 25th this year, soubre hydropower station is the first unit to the grid, more than 8 months ahead of schedule.

       Soubre hydropower station is located near the Sassandra River on the Navajo falls, is a core project of Ivory Coast state energy balance strategy, the total installed capacity of 275 mw. After the completion of the hydropower station will greatly improve the hydropower power in Ivory Coast in proportion; at the same time, a 225 thousand volt transmission line of the project will support the construction of hydropower station to Abidjan, will greatly enhance the level of electricity supply and electricity safety in Beijing area.
