The latest data show that in 2018, the total output value of China's satellite navigation and location service industry reached 301.6 billion yuan, and Beidou application is moving towards a new stage of "standardization" in many fields.

       China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association released a White Paper on the Development of China Satellite Navigation and Location Service Industry (2019) here on the 15th. The total output value of China's satellite navigation and location service industry in 2018 reached 301.6 billion yuan, an increase of 18.3% over 2017. Among them, the research and development of satellite navigation technology and application are directly related, including chips, devices, algorithms, software, navigation data, and the end. The core output value of the industry, including terminal equipment and infrastructure, reached 106.9 billion yuan, accounting for 35.44% of the total output value. The contribution rate of Beidou to the core output value of the industry reached 80%, and the related output value derived from satellite navigation reached 194.7 billion yuan.

       It is reported that by the end of 2018, the basic system of Beidou 3 was completed and began to provide global services, which marks that Beidou system has officially moved from regional to global. The satellite navigation and positioning products of Chinese enterprises have been sold in more than 100 countries around the world, among which the Beidou has applied to the more than 30 countries and regions along the "one belt" road. On April 20, 2019, China successfully launched the 44th Beidou navigation satellite, opening the prelude of this year's Beidou high-density networking, and the satellite navigation and location service industry has also entered a new stage of development.

       According to the white paper, Beidou system has been widely used in transportation, maritime affairs, meteorology, fishery, surveying and mapping, mineral resources, agriculture, forestry, land, water conservancy, finance and other industries. By the end of 2018, the application scale of all kinds of domestic Beidou terminal products has totally exceeded 80 million units/sets. The total social ownership of the terminal products using Beidou compatible chips is close to 700 million units/sets (including smartphones). Beidou application is moving towards a new stage of "standardization" development in many fields. Beidou-based navigation services have been adopted by e-commerce, mobile intelligent terminal manufacturing, location services and other manufacturers. They have been widely used in the areas of mass consumption, shared economy and people's livelihood, and have profoundly changed people's way of production and life.
