Xi Jinping sends congratulatory message to the fifth World Internet Conference

       The fifth World Internet Conference opened in Wuzhen, Zhejiang in November 7th. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter.

       Xi pointed out that today's world is undergoing a wider and deeper technological revolution and industrial transformation. Modern information technologies, such as the Internet, big data and artificial intelligence, have made breakthroughs. The digital economy is booming and the interests of all countries are more closely linked. To add new momentum to world economic development, we urgently need to accelerate the development of digital economy and promote the global Internet governance system towards a more just and reasonable direction.

       Xi emphasized that although different countries in the world have different national conditions, different stages of Internet development and different realistic challenges, they share the same aspirations to promote the development of digital economy, the same interests to meet the challenges of network security, and the same needs to strengthen the governance of cyberspace. Countries should deepen pragmatic cooperation, take common progress as the driving force and win-win as the goal, and take a road of mutual trust and co-governance, so as to make the fate community of cyberspace more vigorous.

       Xi Jinping pointed out that the theme of this World Internet Congress is "Creating a Digital World of Mutual Trust and Governance - Building a Community of Destiny of Cyberspace Together". I hope you can brainstorm and enhance consensus, jointly promote global digital development, build a sustainable digital world, and make the achievements of Internet development better benefit people all over the world.
